Practicing safe sex can be as easy as opening up a box of condoms.

Sexual exploration on a college campus is a common thing. Although there are some who do not practice safe sex, many students say they heed the constant warnings use condoms.

Wesley students seem to prefer to the Trojan brand.

Junior Grant Mignot favors “Twisted Pleasure,” while senior Cara McNeil found “Her Pleasure” more effective.

To help encourage students to practice safe sex, Wesley College has set up condom vending machines in the laundry rooms of every dorm.

The brands in the vending machines are typically no-name brands.

“I actually don’t think they [the machines] work,” McNeil said “I’d rather go out to a store and get ones I trust.”

But why would a student decide to get a fancy kind of condom such as “Twisted Pleasure,” or “Her Pleasure?”

“It feels better than the originals and has some cool scents to them, too,” Mignot said.

McNeil said she uses “Her Pleasure” condoms because they are ribbed.

The advantages to using condoms are obvious.

“It is so I don’t end up being a daddy at age 22” Mignot said.

“I use condoms to not only protect myself from STDs [sexually transmitted diseases] but to avoid pregnancy” McNeil said.
