Q:Â Where are you from?Â
A: I am from Chestertown, Md. It’s about 45 minutes from Dover. It’s on the eastern shore in Maryland. Â
Â
Q:Â Where did you go to college?Â
A: Goldey Beacom College, Wilmington.Â
Â
Q: Why?Â
A: To remain close to my family. It was one hour away from home. They also presented me with the most scholarship money. Â
Â
Q: What was your major?Â
A: Graduated in with a bachelor’s in Business Administration  in 2010, and, in 2012, graduated with my MBA in Marketing Management and another MBA in Financial Management.Â
Â
Q: Where do you see yourself going in life?Â
A: Ultimate goal is to get a Ph.D. and be the president of an HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities)Â
Â
Q: Why that? Â
A: Personally, I feel like the HBCU horror stories, customer services, are really horrible. They have a lot to offer. I want to help change the stigma HBCUs have Â
Â
Q: What’s your favorite book? Â
A: The Bible Â
Â
Q: Why?Â
A: Because when you need life instruction, guidance and seeking wisdom, that will help whatever you are facing in life.Â
Â
Q: What’s your favorite movie?Â
A: Malibu Most Wanted Â
Â
Q: Why?Â
A: That movie is hilarious. It’s corny funny, which makes it super funny. Â
Â
Q: What kind of impact do you think you’ve made on campus?Â
A: I don’t know. I personally hope I made an impact. My main focus is helping students move forward. I want to put people in the best place possible.Â
Â
Q: What is your current job title? Â
A: Director of campus life Â
Â
Q: Why did you pick that job? Â
A: In undergrad, I was heavily involved in student activities, which made me want to become a student leader. After becoming a resident assistant, I noticed that I was having fun and enjoying being an RA. My junior year I saw my director and expressed interest in a higher role or involvement as a student leader. My passion for this type of work took off when I was an undergrad. Â
Â
Q: How long do you want to stay at Wesley? Â
A: However long God intends on me being here. Once he tells me my assignment is done, then I’ll leave. Â
Â
Q: What’s your favorite food? Â
A: Barbecued chicken, or anything barbecued for that matter Â
Â
Q: Do you have a favorite artist?Â
A: Yea, Beyonce. Â
Â
Q: What organization do you belong to?Â
A: So, this past summer I crossed Greekdom; I am a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity. Â
Â
Q: What was your best year at Wesley? Â
A: First year as an Area Coordinator Â
Â
Q: Why?Â
A: Because I was still new, I feel like when you are new that’s a time to execute change and you have momentum to push forward. So I feel like that’s when I had the most impact. I feel like it’s difficult to push initiatives forward when people haven seen your face for a long time. Â
Â
Q: Any advice to anyone that might be interested in doing what you do?Â
A: Passion! You must have it, if you’re not student-centered, you’re going to be miserable if you don’t have the drive.Â
