Every year, the Greek organizations around campus collaborate for Wishfest, an outdoor charity event that supports the Make A Wish Foundation.

The event is also held the same day as Accepted Students Day,to showcase the different Greek organizations along with the student body, showing parents and prospective students ways they can be involved if they decide to come to Wesley.

“We’ve participated in Wishfest every year since I’ve been here,” said Fred Scottnick former president of Alpha Phi Delta.

“Our organization is based on community service. We host Relay for Life each year to raise money for Cancer, we sell bracelets to raise money for children in Spain, and we support the local shelters.”

This year, mini games like bungee basketball, a moon bounce battle pit, and a rock climbing station were the main attractions for participants at Wishfest 2014.

Other games include basketball, custom-hand moldings, and barbecued food.

Greeks who participated in the festivities include Alpha Phi Delta, Alpha Phi Omega, Alpha Kappa Alpha and Delta Phi Epsilon.

Terrance Wingate of Alpha Phi Omega said Wishfest is an important part of Greek life.
“Our organization is based on community service,” he said. “We are involved with the variety show and block party which we co-sponsor with the Black Student Union, as well as host our annual Relay for Life Cancer Walk, Super Bowl party, and table and sell items for various other causes.”
