Players look forward to the future of the program

At the end of the 2013 season, head lacrosse coach Deb Windett announced she was retiring from coaching at Wesley. The team had a new head coach for the 2014 season.

“Aimee LeClaire brings a new dynamic to the team that we hadn’t had before,” senior Jorden Lutz said.

With seven seniors graduating last year and a coach retiring, the 2014 team is young and full of new athletes.

“We are definitely a young team, but that just means that there is a lot of room for the team to grow in the future,” Lutz said.

Some of the returning players were unsure of what to expect out of a new coach and a lot of new players.

“We were all a little nervous at the beginning because we are a new program again, we lost a lot of seniors, got a lot of new players and got a new coach,” junior Rylee Gould said. “But by the end of the season we all became so close and really clicked together.”

Although the team this year is wrapping up their season with a 4-8 record, they are still optimistic for the seasons to come with the young team and new coach.

“It’s been a really good season for us regardless of wins or losses,” Gould said.
