Good day Mates!
I started my classes a couple of weeks ago and all of my modules are great! Mostly I’m taking my psychology core classes.
The classes are very large in what I am used to, but I like the new and different changes that I have been experiencing.
I have many assessments and group assignments to complete by the middle of December, so I have been facing the pressure of beating deadlines. Being an international student studying abroad, it’s difficult because I want to do my studies, but I want to travel too, to go see the world.
I’ve been here a little more than a month now, and I see myself maturing and being more time-oriented and responsible.
I’ve visitied Edinburgh, Scotland, where I stayed there for a couple of days. It was lovely! I went with a group of international students. It took us six hours there and back on a mini bus, but it was worth it!
I got a chance to visit Leeds while we were on our way back from Scotland and I took pictures where Harry Potter was filmed.
We also learned about Scotland’s history, how they executed people when they did not obey to the law of architecture. Scotland is mostly cobbled streets, so it’s easy to imagine myself transported back in their time.
I tried out for the basketball team here and was chosen out of 25 girls! I used to play in high school and I wanted to try it out while studying here at Chester University.
I am glad I did, because one, it’s a great workout three time a week for six hours, and two, I’m doing more traveling when we do our away games. It’s also a tight-knit group of people who I can hang out with and get to know. I also had missed playing.
I’ve also been involved in the Christian Union here. We have service once a week and the church I attend is only three minutes away from me.
I’ve been treated out to dinner form the families in the church and I also take part in CUPPA, which is going into the streets from 12 a.m.- 3 a.m. giving out free tea, coffee, hot cocoa and buscuits to the people coming back from partying.
It’s a good chance to spead the Gospel while they are in a “talkative†mood.
I also got to see someone famous here: Jessica Ennis, the 2012 Olympic Gold-Metalist and National Record Holder. That was pretty awesome.
