Although it started slow, Wesley’s first Halloween dance on Oct. 26 got busy after more than 275 students showed up two hours after it began in Dulany Hall.
“It was packed at the end of the night,†said SAB adviser Evita Wade. ““We had a smoke machine, candy bowls, cotton candy and a photo booth.â€
Some students came to the dance dressed in their Halloween costumes. Sophomore Chantz McKeller won the costume contest for his soldier outfit.
The event was sponsored by SAB and cosponsored by IGC.
Students said they liked the DJ, Wesley student Brandon Greene, also known as DJ Diddy.
“I had a lot of fun and I loved dancing to the DJ’s music,†sophomore Tiana Crosby said.
Wade agreed that the DJ for the dance was good, and said a lot of students had complimented SAB on their DJ pick.
“The dance was a huge success and I think all the students had a lot of fun,†she said.
This was Wesley’s third dance since 2011, when they were banned due to the bad behavior of students and guests.
“The behavior of the students and their guests was great, and this might open a door of possibilities for more dances that will allow guests,†Wade said. “Security was tight with outside guest coming in.â€
