The Wesley Wolverines made easy work of Frostburg State, crushing them 45-17 on Homecoming Saturday, Oct. 8, at Scott D. Miller Stadium.

Wesley rushed for 254 yards, while the defense held the Bobcats to just 77 yards rushing. Nine different players ran the ball for Wesley. Four of them scored touchdowns, including a 47-yard touchdown run by Askia Jahad in the third quarter.

The Bobcats were first on the board. Jonathan Adams kicked a 38-yard field goal resulting from a 12-play, 72-yard drive. This was the Bobcats only score in the first half.

The Wolverines answered quick and often, putting up 21 points in the first half. Just 17 seconds after the Bobcats first score, Steven Koudossou scored on a 77-yard touchdown run off a reverse handoff.

The Wolverines added another 21 points to the scoreboard during the second half, while the Bobcats only managed to put seven more points on the board.

The play of the game occurred in the third quarter from the feet of quarterback Shane McSweeny. Faced with a third and goal from the 25-yard line, McSweeny scrambled from the pocket, broke several tackles and jogged into the end-zone.

The Bobcats answered with their first touchdown of the game in their next possession making the score 35-10. The score was quickly erased by another 77-yard touchdown run on a kickoff return by Jared Morris.

Askia Jahad and Brandon Wright combined for over 150 rushing yards. Jahad rushed for 89, Wright ran for 73 more.

McSweeny completed 11 of 17 passes for 130 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed for 39 more yards.

Tight end Sean McAndrews led the Wolverines, making three catches for 44 yards. Nine different Wolverines caught passes.

The defense proved to be stout and stubborn during the game. The starting linebacker trio combined for 25 tackles. Mike Asiedu led the way with 11 tackles.
