Cannon Hall’s technology has been updated for fall semester.

Eight classrooms have been equipped with Starboards, which will allow Web browsing, the ability to allow three people to write on the board at the same time, and interactive PowerPoints.

“The StarBoards were the chosen method of improving the learning experience in Cannon Hall classrooms based on the features that they offered over other technology,” said Jody Sweeney, chief information officer.

Cannon Hall also has wireless connection now.

Information Technology used a grant received from the National Science Foundation to put in the network.

The wireless network is dedicated to students and faculty in the Science and Math courses, but IT has also added wireless networks in the Academic Resource Center (ARC), the Student Life Lounge, and the Underground in College Center.

To access the wireless network, students must have a username and password.

“I like having wireless in Cannon, but I feel like none of my professors use the Starboards,” said sophomore Ashley Harmon. “I think it’s just because they don’t know how to use them.”
