Wesley’s Student Activity Board [SAB] sponsored Neon Entertainment’s laser tag at the Amphitheatre on March 22.
“I ordered ‘The Extreme Lazer Battle,’ the biggest arena they have,†said Veronica Conte, co-president of SAB.
Conte said that SAB brought laser tag to campus because it’s what the students asked for.
“We’re trying to bring what the students want,†she said. “This is paid by the students and it’s for them.â€
Conte thinks it is important to give students an activity to do as a mini vacation or break away from studying.
“It boosts the students’ morale,†Conte said. “It gives them a respite from studying and builds a sense of pride and teamwork while having fun in the process.â€
Jamie Arthur, freshman, was among the first group to enter the inflated laser tag dome with her friends.
“Wesley should have more interactive events like this where people can join and have fun together,†Arthur said.
The 5-minute rounds inside the dimly lit dome involved 2-on-2 or 4-on-4 matches.
“There should be more lights,†said Taylor Jacob, freshman. “I kept getting lost.â€
Arthur liked how dark the inside of the dome was.
“[Inside,] you have no idea where you were,†Arthur said. “It was really fun.â€
In April, SAB plans to bring an outdoor roller skating rink to the amphitheatre with an 1980s theme.
