The men’s basketball team won at Misericordia 76-59 on March 2 in the ECAC South Quarterfinals.  Wesley had 6 players in double figures, including Eric Selby (12), Rudy Thomas (12), Darrell Johnson (12), Paul Reynolds (12), Chris Douglas (10), and Nick Doran (10).  They advanced to play at Lebanon Valley on March 5 in the Semifinals, to whom they lost 87-74.  Darrell Johnson scored 26 points, Eric Selby scored 16, Paul Reynolds scored 12, and Kevin Johnson scored 10.  The loss culminated a solid 18-11 season for the Wolverines (12-4 in conference play).  The team was dominant in the Wentworth Gym this season with a 9-1 record at home.

Women’s basketball lost 73-55 at Catholic University on March 2 in the ECAC Tournament Quarterfinal.  Allison Beddia led Wesley in scoring with 15 points.  Senior Angie Owens had a double-double (10 PTS, 12 REB) and senior Cory Boyd also scored 10 points.  The team went 16-13 for the season with a strong 9-4 record at home.

Baseball is having a successful March, with 7 wins and 3 losses, contributing to an impressive 15-4 record.  The team has won recent games against Catholic, Eastern, and St. Mary’s.  Rob Benedict leads the team in hitting with a .446 batting average, with Kevin Murphy close behind (.443).  The team has several hitters over .300.  Bryan Reshetar leads the team in home runs (3) and Kevin Murphy leads in RBI (22).  Their most recent game was a 12-7 loss to Haverford, in which they rallied for a 5-run 9th inning.  Runs were batted in by Rob Benedict (2-5, 1 RBI), Morgan Rupp (1-1, 2 R, 2 RBI), Bryan Reshetar (1-3, 2 R, 2 RBI), Ryan Polk (1-4, 1 RBI), and Robert Nutt (1 RBI).

Wesley Softball had a rough start, losing their first 10 games by a collective score of 111-19.  They swept Rosemont in a doubleheader on March 16, bringing their record to 2-10.  Jessica Barranco and Carmen Walsh led the team in hitting over the two wins, each going 6-10 with 4 RBI.

In tennis, the men lost their opener 8-1 and the women lost 9-0.  Pat Slinka got the Wolverines their lone win, defeating Paul Berryman of Salisbury.

Men’s Lacrosse is 1-3 in March with a 2-4 record overall.  Their latest game was a 12-6 loss to Washington College.  Eric Crumbock scored 3 goals and had 2 assists.  Goals were also scored by Joe Trezza, Tim Dougherty, and Justin D’Alonzo.

Women’s Lacrosse is also 2-4 with 15-1 win against Rosemont on March 15.  Jen Jacobs led a long list of scorers with 3 goals and 2 assists.
