Wesley athletics director Mike Drass was not offered a job as Delaware State University’s head football coach despite Internet rumors to the contrary.

“I have not been offered anything,” Drass said. “And I have never applied for that job.”

Footballscoop.com posted the rumor on Friday.

“Our sources tell us that Wesley College head coach Mike Drass has been offered the head coaching job at Delaware State,” it said.

Candy Young Sanders, who is heading the search for Delaware State University’s head coach, also denied the rumor.

The Whetstone received an anonymous email on Jan. 7 claiming that the report on footballscoop.com is true.

“I can say with certainty that this report is true,” the e-mail’s author said. “As of right now the school is waiting on his decision.”

Wesley president William Johnston also denied the rumor.

“Drass continues to be our head coach and Athletic Director,” he said.
