It was a day late to make it a white Christmas for students who remained on the Wesley campus over winter break.Sunday’s snowfall caused a limited State of Emergency to be issued by Governor Jack Markell beginning at 4 p.m. in Kent and Sussex counties.
The level one emergency issued limits driving to safety, health and business reasons.
Several businesses closed early on Dec. 26 because of weather conditions.
A winter storm warning issued by the National Weather Service will remain in effect for Dover until 1 p.m. Monday with accumulations predicted of eight to 12 inches.
Wind gusts are expected to reach around 40 miles an hour.
