The Web site where students can order tickets for the Safety Suit concert is secure, said Derek Mitchell of University Tickets, which is handling sales.

The Whetstone reported a student who feared the site, tickets.wesley.edu, was not secure.

“University Tickets is committed to data privacy and security,” Mitchell said. “Rest assured that all purchases from tickets.wesley.edu are secure and protected.”

Beth Fisher, head of Student Activities, is excited about the new way to sell tickets.

“This resource allows individuals to securely purchase tickets online for various events by using their debit-credit card,” she said. “We will still offer students the opportunity to purchase tickets in person using various methods of payment but will use this system to account for all ticket sales.”

Fisher also said there are service fees that apply to customers using the Web site, but these fees are contracted upfront based on the ticket price.
