Two armed robberies were reported to Dover police during the week of Oct. 25 in the first block of South Bradford Street near Wesley campus.

About 11 p.m. on Halloween night, two men were approached by a man with a handgun in the rear alley of 1 S. Bradford St.

The victims were let to a shed where two other men displayed handguns, and robbed them before fleeing south on South Bradford Street. The men stole the victims’ money, wallet and cell phone, said Lt. Paul Bernat of the Dover Police Department.

Dover Police also reported a similar incident that had occurred two nights earlier, when five African American men with guns robbed another victim behind Chapel Arms Apartments.

Chapel Arms is located in the first block of S. Bradford St.

Police are still investigating, Bernat said.

“I would make sure students are familiar with their surroundings and walk together in groups, and avoid that area late at night,” Bernat said.

According to Dover Police, the suspects of the Halloween night incident were three black men, one with a dark complexion, one with a light complexion; the other’s complexion is unknown. All were described as being between 17 and 19 years old, wearing black bandanas and black hoodies.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Dover Police Department at 302-736-7111.
