Perks, located in the Underground, offers tutoring for students who want to study in a more relaxed atmosphere.
With more hangouts around the school and local businesses, students can have their pick at where to spend their free time.
Renovations of the Underground, the Den, and around the College CenÂter have brought in more students.
Junior Loren Patterson and senior Brandan Brooks both enjoy being around the College Center.
“I like to hang out in the College Center and the Underground because they have new furniture,†Brooks said. “In the Underground they have that flat screen T.V. and when I’m down there, I feel so comfortable.â€
Brooks describes the Underground as an “escape†and an area to do his homework.
“I enjoy hanging out in and getÂting food from the Den,†said Darren Johnson, a sophomore.
Patterson also enjoys the area near Java City and the Underground.
Some students prefer to hang out off campus at friends’ houses or apartments.
“There’s really nowhere to hang out on campus,†said Briana SchÂweizer, a junior. “There is the UnderÂground, but the people don’t utilize it, even after the improvements.â€
Schweizer prefers to hang out at a friend’s apartment.
Rob Zimmerer, a senior, has his own house off campus.
“I chill with people that live on or off campus,†he said.
Another place that students spend time is at local business.
“I see a lot of people at Wawa and the 24-hour Wal-mart,†said Brandon Williams, a senior.
Both places are open 24 hours so that students can get food at any time during the night.
