On September 13th, the sisters of Sigma Phi Sigma drove up to Wilmington to participate in the annual Heart Walk.
The Heart Walk was sponsored by the American Heart Association, which fights strokes and cardiovascular disease.
The sisters registered with the Christiana Care Health System; 581 members were recruited to participate.
Before the walk began at 9 a.m., vendors gave out water bottles, apples, bananas, bagels, juice boxes and water ice.
The event raised $12,190.
